l was diagnosed a year ago with PCOS - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, though I've never had a test done to find any cysts. My doctor diagnosed me on the basis that l suffered every single symptom on the list. Twice in the last three days I've had extremely sharp, burning pains on my left side. First it was toward my back and then where my left ovary is. My mom attributes this to normal menstrual pains, though I've never had pains like this with my cycle. l have dull, tolerable cramps generally, and have never really felt discomfort with ovulation, so that is why I am really curious about these pains.

Also, the first time l had them two days ago, it was a constant, growing pain that had me doubled over. Now, it is a sharp pain, but it is touch-sensitive - when l bend over or stretch or something, that is when it hurts. Just sitting still, it is fine. When l touch that place on my stomach, it hurts, too.

So, question: are these pains cysts, or am l just overreacting?

Are these ovarian cysts? Or am I overreacting?

no offense but if your doctor diagnosed you with PCOS better find second opinion if it is still ovarian cyst then be prepared to have a surgery

I really believe that you have ovulated this time (PCOS sufferers dont always ovulate) and the cysts on your ovaries have ruptured, hence the pain!
A heat pack on your tummy or lower back and some tylenol/panadol for pain relief..

I do not want to scare you, but if i were you, I would get to a Dr asap. That is nothing to be messing around with. I had a very sharp pain in the area of my ovaries, and with some testing they found cancer. I was lucky, it was in its early stages and I am ok now, but what a scare. Always better to go get checked out asap, and be safe, rather than wait and be sorry later.
