Severe period pains should always be investigated to check for a treatable cause. As a rough guide, if you've had severe period pain (known as dysmenorrhoea) since around the time ur periods first started, it is less likely a particular cause will be found.
There r exceptions to this. Conditions such as endometriosis can sometimes cause severe pain from an early age (although the pain typically gets worse as the disease does more damage with each monthly cycle). Other causes include fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease & sometimes a narrowing of the cervix. Bear in mind, though, that period pains r rarely a sign of disease, especially in younger women.
If the pain interferes with ur life, preventing u from working, going to school or coping with daily tasks, I would recommend u consult with a doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation.
Good luck :)
I feel bad for you, any period is a 'pain' but you should not have to suffer so much. Please make an appointment with your doctor and get some advice and methods of dealing with this. If your own doctor is not helping you enough then seek out another doctor through friends or relitives. It should be just an inconvenience in your life not a debilitating one.
I used to have all those symptoms, so I feel your pain (literally). Having kids eased up my cycles and got rid of my cramps and nausea. Pamprin works best from what I heard, so give it a shot if you're sure you wo not vomit it up.
I actually have those heating plasters on my tummy when I am at work and I take special period pain pain killers that helps. Warm showers and if you are old enough red wine thins the blood (the cramp is the thicker parts hurting) or use asprin. Then I also get my bf to massage my lower back. Then I shout at people that helps ;)
I had the same problem with my peroids.
If you not having sex, you can go to the doctor to get a light birth controll which will regulate you peroids and slow them down. I dont advicate birth controll as, even though its not talked about, can cause a chemical abortion in rare cases. but if your not having sex, then it can do that.
