l am currently 4 and a bit weeks pregnant and have been getting stomach cramps for the last 4 weeks, it is tolerable...similar to menstrual pains. l have also experienced the last couple of days a bout of diarrhea which prior to opening my bowels has caused stomach pains but afterwards, it is all fine. My doc has suggested an ultrasound at 6 weeks as he says that getting an earlier scan will not see anything.
Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Is it normal to get stomach cramps and diarrhea during pregnancy

This is most likley from the change in hormones in your body, the stomach cramps are most likley from implantation, OR bowel changes (gas, etc.) The diarrhea is normal, just be thankful its not constipation yet (another common side-effect from pregnancy)Have a happy pregnancy!!! :)

My babies three months old, and yes. I had the same issue. Your GI track is moving effeciantly, but at snail speed. This can cause all sorts of digestional discomforts including gas and constipation. If your getting it too frequently though, or your really concerned, contact your obgyn. You dont want to get too dehydrated. Also, those cramps.consider them little practice rounds for labor. Thats exactly what contractions feel like, times 100. Congrats!

Just hang in there. :) You will have lots of strange pains that will make you worry like crazy. He really can not see anything till about 6 weeks on the ultrasound; even then, it is going to be really tiny.

Congrats.

Generally these are signs of premature labor. being that early on I am not sure. If your Dr is not concerned about it than it should be fine.
I got cramps during the first trimester. It was the implanting of the fertilized egg. Then from the uterus stretching.
