No heart beat will it be a miscarriage should l go for D&C?
Hello all,
l am on 48th day of my pregnancy..i am noticed spotting for 5 -6 days..i went to my GYNEC and l had an ultrasound at 6th week ..which showed only gestational sac and no pole and heartbeat....i am little worried..
will it be going to be miscarriage ...iam very much worried..
actually l am having PCOS l was using metmorphin from past 21/2 months finally l got pregnant...will it be viable pregnancy ?
as l am having spotting?
even l am having slight back pain some times having pain in the ovaries ...but its not as like menstrual pain its very mild.
the doctor check my HCG alternate weeks which showed 11,000 ,19,000,25,000 and currently this wednesday it showed 57,000.
And today l had another ultrasound which showed no hearteat and fetalpole.
wat but Gynec was telling is as my HCG was doubling and lack of heartbeat is charectorstic of miscarriage...
he asked me to call for D & C
is it really miscarriage l really can not believe it...now l am not seeing any spotting
Actually the 48days count is not from the conception date.
it was from my last menstrual date....
this sunday HCG count was 25,000 but this wednesday count is 57,000 l do not know why he told its not doubling ..
should l have to wait till l complete my second month
thanks for all u r responses...
i will once again talk with my Gynec will do accordingly....

no heart beat should i really go for D&C

It is still kind of early.if ur HCG levels r increasing then that is a good sign. However, if this does turn out to be a miscarriage, I highly recommend for u to avoid a D & C if at all possible. There r so many risks with that procedure & being so early in pregnancy, it is unlikely that u will even need one.this should be able to pass on it is own.

If this is a miscarriage then I am very sorry. I just went through one last month - I miscarried at 7 weeks & it passed with out any help. Good luck to you.

I am so sorry you have to go throughthis.

I think you should have 2 more blood tests and see what happens.provided you have no pain, no bleeding and no fever!

If there is no viable heart beat then u have already lost the baby that was forming. just the sac is there & ur body is still holding on to the remaining products of conception. There is no baby that is going to result from this situation. I am sorry for ur loss, I know how painful it is to lose that much anticipated baby. It is now time to move on & have that D&C for ur own health & to give u a new chance at starting a pregnancy that will produce a viable embryo. Make that appointment, grieve this pregnancy that ''was not to be'' & try again in a few months. good luck.

Ok so youre around 12 weeks pregnant, at that point they should have been able to at least SEE heartbeat, even if they havent heard it yet. Unfortunately it sounds like u had a missed miscarriage, or it couldve been a blighted ovum which means everything is basically there except for a baby. If it puts ur mind at ease, u have the option of waiting a week or 2 to see if anything will pass on its own. Getting a D n C would at least give u a time frame to when u can actually start trying again.

If there is no heartbeat, then you have already miscarried. It totally sucks! I'd schedule the D+C. That is what they do for you when your body does not fully miscarry on its own. In the past, the deceased fetus infected the uterus and either killed the mother or made her infertile. You need to go in and get things taken care of so noting happens to you.

well you should go to the doctor and get some medication for the spotting.

I personally would not get a D&C at this time. I do not know why doctors push them since there is some risk of damage performing one. But that is me. A natural miscarriage is generally safer, but (a) not all doctors agree with that and (b) a D&C can be used to determine cause which may be important in future pregnancies.

As far as your numbers, I thought the HCG was supposed to double? I am confused on that.
