l have being having moderate to severe menstrual cramps (mostly nausea, backaches, and headaches) since September 1st. It is September 17th, and my period is nearly a week late. I am just wondering if the pain is normal for that length of time... and, no, I've never had sexual intercourse before, so I am not pregnant or anything. Also, l usually take some kind of aspirin for the pain... but that hardly numbs it... any other suggestions? I am sure that it is perfectly normal, but the pain is driving me mad. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Menstrual pain question...

no that is not norm, you need to go to the doctor
the only thing that works on cramps is aleve!!!!! it is over the counter . you can take two at once( my doctor said) but check with yours to be safe. they take about an hour to start working, but work very well.my cramps are so bad that the dr. put me on the pill again.

Menstrual pain question...

There could be a underlying problem and you need to have your gynecologist check this out.
I used to have some of the same problems and I had cysts on one ovary and adhesions.
Be safe for yourself and get checked out.

Menstrual pain question...

You should probably take some model. And then take a hot bath. Some times that will help with the back pain and headaches. With the nausea just eat stuff that do not upset your stomach. And it is probably stress that is cause for you not having your period. And also your period could have changed to a different time of the month.

Menstrual pain question...

Did you do some kind of strenuous activity over that time which would cause these pains? If not then I would talk to your gyno and get some pain reliever. Also AND I AM NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD-BC I DON'T KNOW YOUR AGE- but I had to get on the pill to regulate my periods and to help relieve some of the menstrual cramps. Mine were so bad I would double over in pain and could hardly walk. Again I would talk to your mom and your gyno. Good Luck

Menstrual pain question...

You need to go to the doctor, no, you should not have the pain for that long. It sounds like you may have a cyst on your ovaries or something like that.no big deal if you get it checked out quickly.

Menstrual pain question...

Take ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) instead of aspirin: it breaks down the chemicals that cause cramps.
