Can you ease your menstrual pains through your diet

Avoiding sweets about two weeks before the onset of a period helps. It,s tough to avoid them I know.Another thing that makes cramping more severe is pressure in the abdominal area from gas.During these times I found pepto bismal very effective and helpful. It got rid of my cramps.Another way is to put a hot water bottle filled with hot water of course, wrapped in a towel and place it on your abdomen for relief.Always have regular pap tests every year in case.

If you can not ease it, you should try to have some exercises. You do not have to do anything that you feel too exacting. This helps the relaxation of spasm, because your uterine muscles get much more oxygen than before.

I found that increasing my iron levels during that time by eating things like spinach, raisins, and peanut butter (for those not allergic to peanuts of course) was helpful with my cramping.

If the cramping is so severe that you can not function I would recommend getting a second opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently use.
