Can buscopan be used to reduce menstrual pain? can it also be used as antispasmodic in hysterosalpingogram?
I do not think that it would be particularly effective for menstrual pain. Buscopan is a smooth muscle relaxant, meant mainly for treating Irritable Bowl Syndrome cramps & spasms. Menstrual pain is best treated by taking care of the symptoms, rather than the cause. If u change the function of the muscles, it may interfere with the flow of menses. Try a Midol or something like that unless it is particularly bad cramps then ask a doctor what else u can do.
During a hysterosalpingogram it would depend on which muscles r spasming. An HSG is an X-ray test that examines the inside of uterus & fallopian tubes & the surrounding area, it wo not help if it is the abdominal muscles that r spasming. Before any kind of medical test, ask the medical office before taking anything.
